Operation Christmas Child

The Women's Missionary Society and the YPD will work again this year with Samaritanspurse.org on the project Operation Christmas Child.  We will be sending shoe boxes filled with Christmas gifts to children in Third World countries.  Many of these children have never had a Christmas gift, and they will also be introduced to the love of Jesus Christ.

We invite the entire Church Family to join us as we begin collecting items to pack shoe boxes with gifts for boys and girls aged 2-14 years.

Gift suggestions include: School Supplies pens, pencils and sharpeners, writing pads or paper, solar calculators, coloring books and picture books, as well as books with Bible stories.  Toys: small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, harmonicas, yo-yos, jump ropes, small Etch-a-Sketch, slinky. Hygiene Items: toothbrush, toothpaste, mild bar soap, comb washcloths, etc. Other items: T-shirts, socks, ball caps, sunglasses, hair clips, toy jewelry, watches, flashlights (with batteries). You may include a personal note as well as monetary donations in your shoe box, if desired.

Please DO NOT include used or damaged items; war-related toys such as guns, knives or military figures; chocolate or food; no liquids or lotions; aerosol cans; snow globes or glass containers.

Missionaries will be packing shoe boxes on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 10:30 AM.  We welcome your help.  Bring gifts, pack boxes, eat soup and share in the joy of giving.

Thank you in advance for making this project a great success.

The Janie Brown Women's Missionary Society & Young People's Division.
